Behringer MonoPoly Analog 4-Voice Polyphonic Synthesizer

Behringer MonoPoly Analog 4-Voice Polyphonic Synthesizer

At introduction, the original MonoPoly’s outstanding analog capabilities were somewhat overlooked in the wake of the emerging digital era synths—although not before finding its way into the hands of Depeche Mode and the Chemical Brothers, to name just a few. Today’s enthusiasts have re-discovered the vintage “sleeper’ for all its charms and abilities. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, Behringer’s MonoPoly is closely based on the short-lived 1982 classic, with some essential modern features, road-ready construction, and a very accessible price.

Equipped with four analog oscillators (each capable of four different waveforms), MonoPoly can produce chest-pounding bass lines and a highly present upper range that allows solos and hooks to slice through the densest of mixes. “Paraphonic” Mode (four VCOs into one ASDR) expands this very capable Mono-Synth into a four-voice powerhouse of pulsating pads and rich orchestral string sounds across the entire 6-octave range.

True to early 80s analog form, the Behringer MonoPoly is outfitted with a classic VCF, two LFOs, two envelopes, sync, cross modulation, portamento, 24db low pass filter, and a full-featured arpeggiator. The vintage-style wood-capped enclosure houses a semi-weighted velocity-sensitive key bed with 37 full-sized keys, plus a spring-loaded pitch bender and mod wheel. The control panel lays flat with the keys or can be tilted up for easy access to all 62 dials and switches, which will keep you happily tweaking and sculpting ‘till it sounds just right. On top of everything--Behringer’s MonoPoly is equipped with multiple inputs and outputs for control over filter cutoff, pitch, CV/Gate, and MIDI connectivity, bringing this classic effortlessly into the modern world.
