Taylor C414ce B4043 2024 NAMM Custom Acoustic Electric Guitar, Wild Honey Burst

Taylor C414ce B4043 2024 NAMM Custom Acoustic Electric Guitar, Wild Honey Burst

Taylor’s highly anticipated “Top Of the Catch” event presents a rare opportunity to own one of Taylor’s heirloom-quality guitars with once-in-a-lifetime customized appointments. Now an annual tradition, Taylor unveils between 40 and 50 custom models adorned with unique inlays, rosettes, purfling, colors, and tonewood combinations on the eve of the NAMM show. Each model is never to be duplicated, and specifications change each year for a truly unique experience. “Catch” models feature a “C” prefix along with the year and custom specifications built into each model designation, denoting its unique pedigree.

Grand Auditorium Styling

Based on Taylor’s versatile and original 1994 Grand-Auditorium style body and neck specifications, the C414ce features a mid-sized body with a slim, tapered waist that’s nearly universally comfortable. Known for the balance and subtlety fingerstyle players seek and power and clarity treasured by flat pickers, the “GA” is a best-of-both-worlds modern classic, bridging the gap between Grand Concert and Dreadnaught.

The full-sized 25 ½” scale length helps drive sustain and power, and the 1 ¾ nut improves playability in the lower registers. 14 frets clear the body, and the rounded Venetian cutaway provides easy upper register access. When it's time to plug in, Taylor’s state-of-the-art E2 expression system electronics add an even more versatile edge while maintaining the natural acoustic tone. The “TaylorSense” system helps you stay on top of battery life, temperature, and humidity levels.

Unique Catch Event Grand Auditorium #43 Appointments

From its standout visual presentation through its unique but familiar sonic signature, Catch #43 features a masterfully chosen complement of tonewoods that enhance the sonic and visual character of this special edition Grand-Auditorium.

Sound Board

Staring right at the “top,” the C414ce #43 is finished in a breathtaking Gloss Wild-Honey Sunburst over a Torrefied Sitka Spruce soundboard. Loved for its smooth highs, powerful mids, warm low end, and startling dynamic range, Sitka’s best qualities are enhanced by Taylors' specially voiced V-Class bracing. Thanks to Taylor’s factory “aged” Torrefied top treatment, from the first time you strum it, the C414ce exhibits complex overtones, added sustain, and a “mature” tonal quality that takes years to develop naturally.

Body and Neck

Rosewood is among the most coveted and classic flat top body woods. It’s loved for its power and projection across all frequencies, with especially sweet highs and warm, pronounced lows. Joining the top is a hand-selected set of beautifully grained Indian Rosewood with a highly figured maple “wedge” in the center. This beautiful visual touch adds a touch of extra sparkle to this classic tonewood combination. The Flame maple theme is echoed all around the guitar, appearing again “stinger style” on the reverse side of the headstock, body binding, Rosette, and backstrap. Sporting Taylor's world-class playability, the C414ce features a satin-finished Neo-Tropical Mahogany neck, capped with a West African Crelicam Ebony ‘board for extra smooth playing.
