Schoeps VMS 5 U Stereo Microphone Preamplifier

*Please note  -- This pre-owned item may show signs of use. Please see photos for details of the product.

The Schoeps VMS 5 U Stereo Microphone Preamplifier is a portable microphone preamp that can be powered by either the 6 included AA batteries or an optional power adapter (sold separately). It has both a standard XLR input as well as a special socket that accepts the Active Y-Cable from the Colette modular system.

The VMS 5 U features a built-in M/S matrix for mid-side decoding and has switchable phantom power for use with condenser mics. It features 2 low-cut filters: a permanent 20Hz filter and a selectable 150Hz cut. The preamp can detect if voltage is too low and automatically shuts off. An automatic switchover quickly changes the power source to internal batteries if AC power is lost. A 1/4" headphone jack allows you to monitor directly from the preamp itself.
