An 80s synth-pop favorite, the “secret weapon” behind 90s Techno, and the sought-after classic of today, Behringer’s SY-1 Syncussion faithfully captures every nuance of the 1979 dual analog percussion synth and more. Loved for its wide range of fat analog percussion sounds/effects and unique operation, Behringer’s updated take on classic "percussion synth for drummers" features MIDI/USB connectivity and convenient Eurorack format—at a price that’s compatible with any budget.

Initially intended for adding synth drum sounds to an acoustic Drumkit, the SY-1 was designed for simple real-time operation and can be triggered with drum pads, a drum machine (like the Behringer RD-8), or manually triggered. It’s loaded with two identical side-by-side channels with an independent 6-mode oscillator (FM, oscillator mix, dynamic oscillator mix, FM/noise mix, and pure noise) for a wide range of kick, snare, and tom sounds—plus a massive range of spaced out percussion sounds and effects. Each mode can be easily shaped with LED-equipped sliders for pitch, decay, and width, plus modulation with speed and range controls for rhythmic shaping. The switchable triangle/square wave LFO has sliders for speed and depth and a sample/hold toggle for generating random pitch and unique sounds at each trigger.

Across the top, each channel has a variable sense control, jacks for output, tune, and triggers, and a global headphones output, master and mute, and MIDI. The SY-1 is compatible with Eurorack or can be operated as a desktop module.
